To finish out this first month of 2013 and the January Ultimate Blog Challenge, first I just want to thank all the bloggers who stopped by and left comments and suggestions. I appreciate it greatly and enjoyed returning the favors.
Second, as an owner of a thriving home business and busy mom of three and wife for 27.5 years to Dave, I want to remind you to remember to take time for you. Take time for your family and your spouse. Use your time wisely in your business, on your blog, with your marketing whether it's online or offline. But never forget that the most important relationships in your life, may not be your business relationships. Schedule your time off, just like you do at a job.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day and 168 hours in a week. If you feel you are working every waking hour, I recommend you take 5 days in a row, and keep a legal pad with you and write down what you do each hour you are working. Log your Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter time. Log the time you spend figuring out apps and setting up your blog. Pay close attention, just like my clients who log what they eat for a week. Seeing your time on a piece of paper and where it is going, might be the most eye-opening revelation you've had for months.
I'm not a time management expert and I stink at "balance," whatever that really is. But after 6 years of building an awesome home business, I'm able to look back and see what I did right with my time, and what was a waste of time and how I want to use my time moving forward. I'm a work in progress, when it comes to this topic. But I'll save that for future blog posts.
For now, look at the clock. Did you get the important things done today for your business? Is your family waiting on you for supper? Do you have a date that wishes you'd get off your smart phone and look at him/her? I could go on and on! I'll leave you with this picture I took of my Yogi teabag.
