I showed you my office in March at the beautiful resort in the Bahamas, and then in April I was in Dallas for training at the Anatole Hotel, then in Puerto Rico at the end of April. We just returned from Las Vegas at the amazing MGM Grand hotel for our annual Beachbody Coach Summit. Wow! And to think we used to travel once a year, if at all, and that was always to visit family, where we had free room and board, of course.
One of my dreams has always been to own a cabin in the mountains where we could go and enjoy a peaceful weekend away from home whenever we feel like it. We aren't ready to do that yet, but we are going to the mountains. We found a great cabin near Estes on HomeAway.com and we even get to take our sweet Spanish Water Dog, Maggie with us.
Not our dream cabin yet, but a peaceful get away for our family in the mountains from HomeAway.com
Truthfully, I won't be doing too much work here. It's our family time. You might see me posting pictures from my phone to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, but I plan on just touching base with my business and team, maybe while the boys are out in the hot tub, and the rest of the time I will be relaxing with my family. Isn't that why we build our businesses anyway? For me, it was the freedom to do whatever I wanted when I wanted to without having to ask permission from a boss and without losing a week's pay just so I can go on vacation. We are still working hard and building our business and leading our team, but now when we want to take a week and refuel our engines, our income doesn't suffer. Thursday morning, like clockwork, the paycheck is deposited in our account.
It's just surreal sometimes. 5 1/2 years ago I wondered if we could make just enough money to pay for some extra groceries. But I think our real secret is that we didn't say "let's try this for a few months." We said, "This is it. We are in this and no matter how many times we fall, we will take this across the goal line." I think that's our real secret. It's not because we are especially skilled or knowledgable. Truthfully, we have a big Team Beachbody business because we approached this like we did our marriage; divorce never. No matter what comes, we work this out.
And that's how we've built our business. It hasn't been easy. And there are things in business building I don't like to do. But when I look at this cabin and the places we've been just this year; Puerto Rico, Dallas, Bahamas, Vegas, Colorado; it makes the struggle seem so worth it.
And the year is not even half over yet! Dave is taking our two youngest boys to Canada to go fishing in July. In September we will start the month by staying in a 3,500 sq. foot home in the San Juan mountains, not far from Durango, CO for a whole week. After that, we'll go camping with my entire family at a state park only 3 hours from home.
Have you written down your goals? I did. And this was one of them.
Blessings on you as you push past your resistance and build your business.
Never give up.
